You Aren't Worth It

Just another poem I wrote a few months ago about love.

You Aren't Worth It

You said you love me,

You wanted to be with me

And cared about me.

And I believed it all.

I trusted you

With all my heart.

I gave you my heart

In return for your own.

I held your hand

With love and care.

Now though,

I regret it all.

You lied to me

And moved on to someone else.

Now the secret is out,

I’ve given you back everything

Except my trust,

Trust you do not deserve.

I refuse to let you take me down,

Because you aren’t worth it.

So tonight I shout good bye

beneath the stars and move on.

There's something that doesn't seem right about this poem. I'm not sure what it is but if anyone has any suggestions than just let me know.

In the beginning you need to change the verb tense. It should read:
"You said you loved me,
You wanted to be with me
You cared about me."
because you then write:
" And I believed it all."
Then after the line
" You lied to me.
You left me
and moved on to someone else."
"Now the secret is out,
I've given you back everything,
except my trust,
trust you do not deserve.
I will not let you take me down;
for you are not worth it.

So tonight I shout good bye
beneath the stars,
and move on.
