Chapter 5

Vitae's POV

"So, you're a creation, not a natural Pokemon?" I asked Deoxys.

"Yes. My species started out as a virus on an asteriod that eventually became the very first Deoxys. I am not, however, the, Deoxys that we told you about. What me and Charizard told you was to explain about the species of Deoxys."

"So, if you're not the legendary Deoxys... Where is he!?"

Lord Charizard let his shoulders sag a bit and sighed, a small flame burning the stone pillar between his feet. "See, that's the issue, Vitae. What we've been asking ourselves for a long time."

I looked at the old, battle-scared, leader. He had been in charge for two years. For there to be something he didn't know... It was unthinkable, unplausable, even. The other Charizard's looked at the main entrance suddenly, all of them raising their wings and extending their necks.

I turned and gaped at the two people who had just arrived. My mom and Mew had just entered. Mom gave me a withering look, and I became keenly aware that I should be in my cave. Oh well, I thought, I'd just blame Deoxys.

No, you won't, my mother's voice said in my mind.

You shouldn't blame others, Child, Mew put in.

Why would you blame me? Deoxys thought. You agreed to follow me.

Note to self... No thinking to self around highly skilled psychics.

The horde of Charizards were entirely unaware of this silent conversation. Lord Charizard spoke to the newcomers. "What is with everyone entering my home today? What do you want, ladies?"

"What I have to say can change the tide of the Omega War, My Lord," Mom said to the reptile. From behind her back, she took a Plate, one I knew well. The Plate that Mewtwo gave her.

Gardevor's POV

I held up the Mind Plate to him. I could deal with Vitae after I got through with getting permission to search for the Super-Pokémon. Mew floated at my shoulder, dead set on coming with me to recover the ancient Pokémon.

"I will see to you in a moment. Deoxys, will you explain to everyone present who you truly are?"

"Yes. I am not the legendary Deoxys who fought Rayquaza. Even Rayquaza is unaware of this. Many years ago, when everyone thought the Legendary was inside of Meteor Cave, I had recieved word to visit him. Once I had arrived secretly, he had asked me to replace him within the Cave. When I asked why, he said that his meditations lead him to believe that something was to go terribly wrong, and that a very powerful, ancient Pokémon would awaken. He was to go search for it, and I was to watch and meditate there. If needed, I was to replace him.

"I am Cassius, a wild Deoxys who once lived deep under the land known as Ore in a underground cave. Since I never left my home, nobody know of my existance. I was a perfect replacement, for technically, I did not exist. Nobody has heard from Deoxys since then."

A Super-Pokémon? Deoxys was looking for a Super-Pokémon? It struck me as odd, and an extreme coincidence that he was looking for what could be what I was about to search for. It could have been mere chance, or perhaps he was searching for something completely different.

"Describe this ancient Pokémon the way Deoxys told you, Cassius," Lord Chariard said. I could tell he wanted everyone present to hear the story, as he must have already.

"Deoxys said that this ancient being had the might to vanguish anything that he faught, but had been dormant somewhere for thousands, even millions of years. He could tell me only this: 'Terord will rise again. Prepare for his coming.'"

Mew stopped moving and just hovered next to me. It wasn't just her who had frozen. Everyone in the room had stiffened, some of the more elderly Charizards even took a step back. Even I had my breath catch in my throat. It was that name that caused us all to react in such a way. I looked up at Lord Charizard and say that even his gaze seemed to have wavered at the simple word.

"What is that? Terord?" Mew asked, causing a small reaction from all who were present.

"I believe that it is the name of the ancient creature Deoxys went to search for. I have checked every record for a mention of it, but nothing contains any information. When this creature went into slumber, it was erased from history. Curiously enough, it's name causes all Pokémon who hear it to have a negative reaction, generally stronger in older ones. As far as I am aware, Terord," a tiny shiver ran through us all, "went to sleep far before humans exististed. It could be that you would not get a reaction from humans."

"So, in simple terms, all Pokémon are born having an instinctive negative reaction to this creature's name. I can imagine what SEEING it could do to someone..." Vitae said. A grumble of agreement ran through the Charizards behind our leader.

"Yes, it does seem odd how we do not know what this creature is, yet we are afraid of it. But, perhaps it is our ignorance that causes our fear," our leader said. He turned to me and Mew. "Now, what is your purpose here?"

"Please, My Lord, what me and Mew have to say must be spoken of in private, or at the very least, by the Counsul alone." I glanced at my daughter next to Deox-... Cassius, wondering why they were both here in the first place.

"Then it shall be done in three hours time. Gather the others and tell them to meet on the Southern Platue, just south of this lake. Begone, all of you, from my home!" Lord Charizard yelled as he stood, spreading his wings and flying straight up, through a hole in the cavern roof.
