Chapter II

Planet Bae, Hidden Galaxy

I looked at them, feeling shocked. "D-don't you want to know what I can even do?"

The six of them looked at each other, aside from Mage who was still looking at me. It was obvious that they hadn't thought that far yet. Sev looked like he wished he'd thought to ask earlier, but it was Mage who spoke up.

"Is it true you can create things?" Her voice was quiet and angelic, the voice of someone who rarely spoke.

Nova looked at her then her brother. "Holy crap! I thought your sister was a mute!" In response, Wizard made a complicated hand sign with his left hand and pointed it at Nova. A blue bolt of lightning arced across the empty space and hit Nova square in the chest, but he laughed it off.

I looked at the girl Mage. I wasn't sure how she knew. I didn't want to bring David and Lisa out in front of these people. So I tried something new.

The door behind me opened. Greavus walked in. I tried to hide my relief.

"Alex, I need to talk to you after I speak with Sven." Greavus walked off with the Xeu. They talked for a while, but it seemed Greavus dominated the conversation.

He came back towards me and ushered me into the white room. Once the door was closed I smiled and laughed. I reabsorbed the copy Greavus I had puppettered.

I waited a few minutes before going back into the other room.

Sven came over. "Greavus told me to escort you back to your room. Its lucky I already knew where you'd be staying; he didn't even bother to mention it. Every time he brings someone, I'm stuck with escorting them. Doesn't he think I might have plans?"

"I'll take her," Mage said. The other five looked at her. She'd spoken twice in one day, something I guessed was unprecedented.

"Thank you Mage. I owe you; I'll pay you back, promise."

Mage came over and gestured for me to follow her. I followed the small girl through a door in the back.

We walked a long way, up and down a multitude of stairs, before she stopped in front of an artic blue door. Level with Mage’s eyes was a small, detailed drawing of her own face. She turned the doorknob and walked into the room. I followed her.

The room was full of blue. Blue painted walls; blue bed sheets. A rosewood dresser stood in the corner and a black chest, like a pirate’s chest, sat at the foot of the bed.

Mage went over to the bed and laid down on it. She motioned for me to come over, too. She said, "So you can create things. It was a near perfect Greavus, but the real one is taller. Only by an inch, though."

I looked at her, shocked. "How did you know?"

"I’m the most adapt at our power. I sense when one of the Coven uses their abilities, you included. Besides, the real Greavus is a lot louder."

I nodded. Generally, Greavus tended to speak louder than necessary. "This isn’t my room, is it?"

"No, it’s mine. Your room is next to this one, though. I’ll show you which one, once the real Greavus and Ms. Burd leave it. Before you ask, I’m not psychic. They just take a while setting the room up with all your stuff. Usually, a half an hour," Mage yawned and stretched on her bed. "Tell me about yourself, please?"

"My name is Alex. I’m 15 and I was born on Planet Vral, in the Ukri Galaxy. Greavus found me when I was three. All I really knew how to do was create things and absorb them. I can make anything, alive or not."

"My name is Mage, and I’m 16. I was born on Earth, and was brought here when I was six. My brother came the year after, when his powers finally emerged. So, you’ve been living with the amazing Greavus Deadlok, huh? What’s it like?" I was amazed at how small she and her brother were, especially for their age.

"Nothing exciting. It’s so boring being with only Greavus that I had to create my own friends. Do you mind if I let them out? There’s only two."

"Sure, I’d love to meet them." I focused and David and Lisa sprang into existence. David looked at mage and was about to say something when Lisa hit him in the back of the head.

"Alex," Lisa whined, "David was being a jerk the whole time!"

"I was not!"

I looked at Mage. "For these two, I’m more of a container. They’re both still actively conscious inside of me. I don’t really understand how it works."

Noticing Mage for the first time, the two stopped. Mage looked at them both. "You’re kinda cute," Mage said.

"Thanks. So are you," David responded.

"No, not you. Her," Mage said. I laughed and Lisa looked offended.

"I am not a lesbian," she said, with her usual snotty attitude.

"Really, that’s great for you! I’m not either. I love my boyfriend very much," Mage said with a laugh. She sat up, moving next to me, giving the two room to sit on the bed.

The four of us talked for about half an hour. Sometime after we ran out of things to talk about, mage stood up and went to check if my room was finished. She came back a couple minutes later.

"Greavus told me to let you stay in my room for the night. It seems he fell through one of the walls while moving things. I hope you don’t mind," She looked in her chest and brought out a pillow and a blanket. "We’ll have to share my bed. The floor’s freezing!"

After absorbing David and Lisa, neither of whom could or wanted to stay, I fell asleep next to Mage.

by the way. It might sound like Mage says "great for you!" like she's insulting her. She's not. Mage has nothing against gay people
