The eyes have the spark

The eyes have the spark

A Poem by Savior knowmore

Walking endlessly

Searching and seeking

On a mission of need and want

Many stormy nights, huddled alone

My mission is to end this loneliness

To search for my significant love

Moving from town to town

Searching all their eyes, looking for one with a spark

Withering away, years without that needed love

Slowly dying, fading into nothing

Despair grips my heart, as my life begins to fade

Resigned to my fate, I lay down to die.

A figure blocks the light of moon

A shape of love and beauty

Her features lovely, her smile warm

But tis her eyes that stun me most

Within them is that one spark

The one that matched mine perfectly

I found my significant love

But too late, now I die

I close my eyes and darkness takes me

Strangely, death is warm and happy, when life was cold and sad

In death, I feel the warmth and touches I missed

It dawns upon me; I’m not dead, but alive and safe

Slowly, light dazing me, my eyes flutter

And as they open, I see before me

A girl so sweet and beautiful

Whose eyes hold the spark

She smiled and leaned down

Bestowing a kiss, warm and sweet, upon my lips

She told of how she saved me

And nursed me to life

It wasn’t her medicine, her foods, or anything else

It was her love and kindness that brought me back

She whispered kindly to me

Of her love

Here we are years later

And she is still smiling sweetly to me

Telling me of her love

And the spark grows brighter and hotter every time
