Chapter 2

A Chapter by Savior knowmore
"

Jakob Reeds is a normal adult man. He's a doctor at a local clinic. Maried to a loving wife. But then the stranger came...

"

"Have a good day at work, Jakob," Marie said from the kitchen. She smiled and turned back to her cooking.

Jakob smiled and walked through the too empty house to give her a kiss. As he turned to leave, he wished once more he could give her what she wanted more than anything. Children, but for Jakob it was a dream. Ever since he got mugged and assulted by those three teenage thugs twelve years ago, he's been unable to produce children.

He looked around the living room, sparce of funiture, and walked out into to the cold and rainy nightime world. He fumbled around for his keys that'd open the car him and his father had built twenty years ago.

The car was a masculine thing, every peice built by hand. It was larger than a standard car, almost truck like, but not quite as large. They had assembled it in their spare time, buying what couldn't be built. It looked factory made with all the touch ups and special things they paid to have done. It was a pearlescent black, blending into the darkness of night. It was the gift a dying man chose to give his son before passing on.

Settling himself into the soft seat, Jakob turned the key in the ignition. The car roared to life. Turning his bright headlights on, Jakob pulled out of his driveway and into the road, paying little mind to anything outside of the car.

With a loud thump, the car hit something. Startled, Jakob jumped out of the car to see if he had hit an animal. A man in a large trench coat lay on the ground. He seemed unresponsive when Jakob spoke to him.

Afriad he killed the man, Jakob checked his pulse. It was strong, but weakening. Jakob grabbed the man and set him into the backseat. Jakob drove as quickly as possible to the clinic he worked at.

Once there, he issued an emergency. The strange man was taken into ER and five men worked on giving a diagnosis.

The man had multiple broken bones, but he'd live. It was up to the man if he'd press charges against Jakob. But... When he did wake, he asked if a Jakob Reeds worked at this clinic.

Coming over to the man, Jakob asked what it was he wanted.

"I've been looking for you Jakob. I'm a friend of your father's. My name's Duglass Simms."

"Dad said Duglass died years ago."

"I'm here arn't I? But enough about me. I was told to give this to your daddy, but he's no longer here. So I'm to give it to you." He pulled a letter from inside his coat, a thin white letter sealed with a crimson wax.

Jakob looked at the letter. He held it to his eye to inspect the wax seal. "Who's it from? There's no symbol on the seal."

But when he looked back at the bed, the man was gone. The sheets were neat and wrinkle free. It was as if he never was there to begin with.
