Demo #004A Chapter by Savior knowmoreplease review! The swords sang through the air. They cut through metal, skin and bone. The king’s army had never been beaten. The first part was only swordsmen, five hundred strong. Every man was a master with his sword, each utilizing different techniques in perfect harmony. The second part was archers, another three hundred men. One hundred men in the first row, two hundred men behind them. As they marched, they shot volleys of arrows over the swordsmen. Never in the history of the army had one of their arrows hit even one of the swordsmen. The final one hundred men were his secret to his success. His third part only ever left the cells they were kept in during times of horrible disaster. They were unarmed men, who when they fought for real were more animal than man. They would turn on each other just as easily as kill the enemies. Commanding these three parts of the army was four people. Kain, the first of the four, was a swordsman who was far superior to the entire five hundred together. His favorite sword was a simple katana with a black blade. The second of the four was Fulmine, the greatest archer in the king’s army. His arrows rose so high, they fell with the lightning. The third fighter was from the third part of the army. His name was Krag, meaning power. The final of the four was Vitae. She was the only one of the four who was a girl, but she is the most feared. Her name means life, but to many, she is death. Since birth, she was taught to fight. When her power should have manifested, her people threw her out. Instead of killing, she healed them. She mastered her ability to heal and gave those she fought a chance to live. If they could think of the number she was thinking, out of one and two, she healed them and moved on. If not she killed them using a variety of methods, each more painful than the last. The only man they respected above themselves was the king. He was the only man stronger than them. The king may have been old but he was the greatest fighter his country had ever seen. Kain, a master of the water element, and Fulmine, a master of lightning, would never have fought together if it wasn’t for this king. His country kept fighting to be stronger out of fear and awe for their king. That king is the Blind Sword, Nazroth, who now planned on waging war with the gods even as his army trained. © 2011 Savior knowmore |
