The screams are your lullaby.

The sweetest sound you ever

Heard is the sound of Death.

Hold his body close to yours.

Feel his heartbeat weaken,

As it pulses near your breast.

Does this make you happy?

It's okay, it's going to be alright,

So just keep drinking.

That's it, drink it all.

Good girl, rip his throat

Once you drain him dry.

Use your strength,

Tear out his chest,

And steal his still heart.

Look at the dead organ, 

He promised you could have it,

So squeeze until it pops.

He promised you eternity,

His life gave it to you.

You got everything he promised.

Look at me, darling.

His life made you strong,

So remember him.

But I must go,

I cannot linger here,

Because you killed me...

I could totally hear Amy Lee singing this as if it were her own (or even Within Temptation). You are so young and already showing promising talent, a rarity. The imagery is tense and leaves that feeling with the reader, really a sensory piece. I have a fondness for blood myself and you made me smell it ever-so-faintly, as if dried up on the page, with your words. I encourage you to keep writing and allow the darkness to inspire you, excellent work Sir Dylan.
