Universal Threshold

Universal Threshold

A Poem by Dewella~Vintella

Porch lights grace through the air,

Giving light to wooden beams and rusty swings.

Moths flutter, bowing now and again,

hesitant to beauty, longing longevity.

The sweet serenity of the night song,

singing to the trees, the grass sways with the tune.

The darkness, secretly surrenders

passing over, weakness to the sun.

And, Oh, the brightest shinning star,

such simplicity.

What once was dark,

now sheds the light.

Though, such a wonder I have,

which one is worth the fight?

Only in darkness can our greatness within burn,

guiding us through dreams of unreal.

Yet such visions fright, consuming us with the need to fight.

Captivated, caught in a web,

blissful star, the one and only.

Chase the dreams away, lead the darkness astray.

Feeling is a sculpted nature,

the edges of our soul are widdles away.

Bits for each moment, each day.

We form and shape,

we bleed, we take.

Such is the beauty of living,

that so many over look.

Its not something you can put into words,

or read in a book.

No, the sweet torture that is our life force,

balances in the lashes of our eyes.

Open to see as each day fades into the next.

The every constant, changing of each moment, liminal.

Darkness into day,

white into gray.

The good for the bad,

Gaining one moment of joy,

for hours of sad.

As time has changed, so have I. For a long time I thought I knew who I was and where I belonged, and for a long time I constructed myself to fit inside that mold; But it seems that much like the w.. more..
