Shadows

Shadows

A Poem by Dewella~Vintella

Silken shadows soak my walls,
bleeding black and grey.
I lay in bed and close my eyes,
yet still the shadows stay.

I fall into the darkness,
and the shadows begin to move.
They dance behind my eyes,
moving through the room.

The stars begin to laugh,
and the moon shudders a sigh.
The shadows moving closer,
I, frozen where I lie.

I whisper in the silence,
though my words make no sound.
I pray for my savior,
but here he is not found.

The shadows suffocate me,
They bleed me black and grey.
My skin now silken ashes,
and they leave as I lay.

I like this poem its very deep, I have tried to write poems lately, but nothing comes to mind and the words just don't seem to flow very well. But this poem is really good.

It made feel as if the shadows were a being that the narrator both desired and feared. The narrator also craved the shadows caress but conversely was horrified by the consequences!

Very well written thank you.

Provocative and creatively written, my interest was pulled in blindly.

Thanks for the share

That was haunting and eerie. It reminds me of a story I once read about demonic shadows that attacked and devoured a family, with only the mother escaping alive...

Aside from the quiet chill that went up my spine while reading this, it was almost...sensual in a way. It's as if the shadows devoured the narrator, seducing them to the darkness.

This is an awesome multilayered piece.
