A young reddish brown haired girl wandered slowly through the woods. She looked up at the trees; just the tops were lit up bright green in the setting sun. She looked back down at the brush around her. Everything was dark in the underbrush; night had already begun. She gulped, knowing she was lost but continued on her way anyways. As she carefully stepped over a log, she heard a loud cry and a black figure stood. She stared, gasping in fear and shock as a large wolf stood, shook itself off then turned and looked at her. It growled a low, deep throated growl before taking a step closer. An angry look entered its eyes as he locked his vision on her. She gulped hard and took a step back, stumbling over a rock and falling back.

“Don’t hurt me... please...” she whispered, crawling backwards slightly. The wolf snarled and took two more steps quickly toward her, looking as though it was ready to lunge.

“BACK OLIVER!!” a loud voice yelled from behind her. She turned in time to see a young agile man leap from the shadows, his shoulder length light brown hair flowed gently in the wind he created by running. The young teen watched as the man leapt over her and transformed into a large light brown wolf, facing off against the black one. She screamed as the black wolf attacked the light brown one, knocking him to the ground inches from her. The light brown wolf cried out in pain as the black wolf bit his neck viciously. After a few minutes of ruthless fighting, the light brown wolf over powered the black wolf and pinned him, biting his leg defiantly. The black wolf cried out in pain then lay back on the ground, perfectly still as he succumbed to the light brown wolf.  The light brown wolf watched him for a moment then turned to the girl, his mean stare turning instantly soft and sweet. He took a careful quiet step toward her.

“Stay back!!!” she yelled. “Don’t... don’t come near me!!!” she cried, large tears of fright running down her cheeks. The light brown wolf jumped at her screams then turned and headed off into the woods quietly, alone. The black wolf stood slowly, watching the other one then looking at the girl. He growled at her then turned and limped away after the other wolf. The girl sat, stunned at what she had just seen before her eyes rolled back and she fell backwards, passed out cold.

The young teen opened her eyes and jumped slightly as she looked at the three girls leaning over the couch staring at her.

“See? I told you she was still alive!” a young girl stated, crossing her arms and leaning back slightly. A tall reddish haired girl scoffed, rolling her eyes and turning away.

“So the twerp was right for once... don’t let it make you think you’re better than everyone!” she stated, frowning.

“Shut up. I’m not a twerp!” the girl exclaimed, growling. A tall blonde haired girl looked at the two and glared.

“Quinn and Emma!! Stop this foolishness at once!” she stated loudly. “We have a guest who may need help or attention of some sort! Do not fight over her!”

Quinn growled at Emma then looked at the blonde haired girl.

“Sorry Abby... I’m just tired of this little know-it-all acting better than everyone!”

“Nice description of yourself!” Emma shot back angrily, crossing her arms and tossing her black hair over her shoulder. Abigail sighed deeply and looked down at the girl on the couch.

“Forgive them, they do not know better.” She stated, shooting them a glare before looking toward the door. She smiled as a young light brown haired man walked into the room and over to her. He put his arm around her waist and kissed her gently before looking at the girl on the couch.

“You! You’re the one from the woods!!” he exclaimed suddenly, stepping back and pointing at her accusingly. She sat up, staring at him with a frown.

                “Ex... excuse me?”

“You stepped on my tail you stupid human!” he growled. Abigail put a hand on his chest and stared at him.

“Oliver, calm down” she said softly. Oliver growled quietly then looked at Abigail.

“I’m sorry” he said quietly, glancing at the girl on the couch again. She frowned, keeping her eyes locked on Oliver.

“Wait, Oliver... that’s the name the man I saw yelled... he... he transformed... into a wolf...” she froze, gasping. “You’re... you’re that...”

“That’s right sweetheart, I’m the black wolf you met! I’m the black wolf that would have eaten you for lunch had you not been saved by the all powerful Alpha Male!” he spook in a mocking tone of voice before he took a step closer to the couch, staring down at her. “I still easily could. I haven’t eaten... and I’m as hungry ... as a wolf...” he licked his lips slightly before stepping back fast as a hand slapped down on his shoulder.

“Oliver, leave our guest alone” a taller light brown haired man stated, looking at the girl on the couch before sitting beside her. “So, you are finally awake” he smirked softly.

“Let me guess, Dimitrius?” she said quietly. He nodded, smiling and chuckling softly.

“You know my name... but what is yours?”

The girl gulped and looked at all the others hanging around before looking at Dimitrius again.

                “Umm... Kaydence...”

“Kaydence what?” Dimitrius asked, smiling a pleasant, strangely calming smile. Kaydence stared at him, getting lost instantly in his soft puppy brown eyes. Oliver shook his head and turned away.

“Of course, King Dimitrius gets the girl once again!” he exclaimed, heading into the kitchen. Kaydence watched him and frowned before looking at Dimitrius.

                “What’s his problem?”

                “He’s jealous,” Quinn said plainly.

“Because Dimitrius is Alpha.” Emma chimed in. Kaydence blinked in confusion.

“He’s jealous because you’re the Alpha Male?”

Dimitrius shook his head.

“Jealous because our father chose me over him to be the Alpha Male.” Dimitrius answered, his voice lowered. “He has always tried his best to be stronger and faster than me and although he is VERY strong and a very fast runner, he has not yet been able to match me,” he paused briefly, inhaling and exhaling deeply before continuing. “Thus why my father chose me to be Alpha when he passed away. Oliver has just never come to terms with it.”

Kaydence frowned, still unsure of the whole situation.

“Why... why doesn’t he form his own pack?” she asked quietly, forgetting the girls were still around her. Quinn laughed loudly, a mocking laugh that gave Kaydence her answer instantly.

“Impossible, we’re the only wolves around for miles... where would he find some to form his own pack?!” She smiled at Dimitrius then looked at Kaydence. “I am fully dedicated to this pack...”

“As am I!” Emma exclaimed, leaning over and hugging Dimitrius’ arm gently. Dimitrius chuckled and patted Emma on the head.

“And I am very grateful you are.” He said to the young girl, laughing lightly as she continued hugging his arm. Kaydence watched the two, curious as to how a child had gotten involved with a pack of older wolves when she herself was only about 10 years old. She was brought out of her thoughts by Dimitrius staring at her with a smirk.

“What?!” she asked fast, realizing he had asked her a question. He chuckled lightly.

“I asked if you were hurt in any way or needed anything by way of nourishment.”

 Kaydence shook her head fast.

“N... no...” she glanced at a window and noticed it was pitch dark outside. “But, I DO need to get home like... now!” she stood and grabbed her backpack, putting it on and heading for the door. Dimitrius stood and followed her, slipping on a pair of shoes fast.

                “I’ll drive you.”

                “Not necessary.”

Dimitrius held onto the door so she couldn’t open it.

“I insist. It is dark and there are dangers in these woods that you will not survive against. I will drive you home!” He grabbed a set of keys and headed out the door. Kaydence stared out the door after him. She hadn’t seen a vehicle in the yard, let alone even seen a driveway. Or, she didn’t think she had. In fact, she hadn’t even seen the front of the house. She stepped out of the house and glanced around at the darkness. She couldn’t see anything, how could Dimitrius see? Oh right, he was a wolf. She looked down slightly before being startled by headlights suddenly on her. A large SUV sat facing her, Dimitrius grinning at her happily from behind the wheel. She blinked then shaded her eyes from the bright headlights as she made her way to the passenger side and climbed in.

“Thanks for the ride...” she said quietly as she buckled up and stared out the window. Dimitrius looked at her then pulled out of the yard. They spent the whole drive in complete silence. A million questions swirled around in Kaydence’s mind but she didn’t know where to begin asking them. She glanced at Dimitrius then out the passenger window again. After a few more minutes of silence, Dimitrius reached the town. He stopped at a red light and looked at Kaydence.

                “Where do you live?”

“Just drop me off here, I can walk...”

“Where do you live?” Dimitrius responded. Kaydence looked at him then frowned, realizing these was no arguing with him.

“Turn right... it’s the fourth house on the left...”

Dimitrius smiled and followed her directions. A few minutes later, he pulled into her driveway and looked at her.

“I hope to see you again soon.” He said quietly, smiling lightly.

“I’m sure you will, I’m around town a lot. Thanks for the ride...” she climbed out of the SUV and headed into her house. Tonight had been a crazy night, one she didn’t want to remember, but one she knew she’d never forget. She sighed as she kicked her shoes off and headed to her bedroom and dropped her bookbag as she closed the door behind her. She pulled her sweater off then reached for her neck before freezing. Her necklace, a royal blue trinket her grandmother had given her was gone. She gasped.

“No... no!!!” she exclaimed, searching through all her clothes and her book-bag. When she found it wasn’t there, she ran downstairs, knowing he was gone already, but somehow hoping he was still in the yard. She flung open the front door but sighed sadly as she looked at the empty driveway.

“Great, just great. I meet a strange werewolf in the woods and I lose my necklace in his SUV... yea... smart move, Kay!” she scolded herself as she quietly shut the front door and headed up to her room to get ready for bed. “We better meet again, Dimitrius...” she muttered to herself as she changed into her pyjamas and climbed into bed. “You better have my necklace...”

grammar/punctuation is a problem, I know. :) The ending is kind of rough as it was written on a deadline late at night.
