The Night

The Night

A Poem by Eva

***
The sun shall set.
The night shall come.

Reigning with it,
vast skies of inky black
and twinkling stars.

The bellow of birds displaced,
by the call of crickets.

Fire flies illuminate
fields and trees,
like thousands of flickering lights.
What a beautiful sight to behold.

Your poem reminds me of when I was young. Those younger years are ideal. To see the stars and fireflies while running through the grass is something I loved.
