Reflections

Reflections

A Poem by Vin

Chained to walls

of flawless mirrors.

Blindfolded, useless

to the reflected sneers.

Frown upon light,

the pitch black reigns.

Blood no longer crimson,

clotting in veins.

Copious happiness

now evanescent; obsolete.

Vultures fly in,

such a murderous fleet.

Befriending my lost soul,

life heading endwise.

Sun setting blindly,

never again to rise.

Emery grinding at me,

fragments fall in sorrow.

No joy to spare,

no allies from which to borrow.

The mirrors reflected my words,

echoing to my ears; the sounds return.

Reminds me of lacking confidence,

enflict penetrating burns.

Heart no longer beating,

corroding in curse.

Never to convalesce,

my life ends in this verse.
