Blood Stained Teddy Bear

Blood Stained Teddy Bear

A Poem by Vin

Every night her Daddy would tuck her into bed,

stroke her soft curls on her little blonde head.

He'd stay til she slept, she was safe with him there,

she snuggled right down with her old teddy bear.

She didn't know how her Daddy wanted to die,

she never woke in the night to hear him cry.

She knows her Daddy loves her, he'd never go away,

she trusted him always, until her dying day.

That night he had a gun, he pointed it at her head,

he took a deep breath and shot his daughter dead.

She never even woke, never knew that he was there,

he left her in her room with her blood stained teddy bear.

Downstairs he had a drink to make him feel a little better,

he took out some paper and wrote a short letter.

Put the gun to his own head and ended his own life,

left the note on the table to wait for his wife.

Now here she stands, by the grave in the cold,

burying a girl who was barely five years old.

She strokes the blonde curly lock of her daughter's hair,

and buries her child with her blood stained teddy bear.

I could read that blood stained teddy bear is more than just a story of a little being killed by the father and the father committed suicide. I could read that the bond of the father and daughter is stronger than life and death itself, and even the mother could save them from the deadly path.

Amazing, strong, and emotional poem (story) you've written. Simply wow...

Wow the story was very sad. It would be a hard thing to kill your own child. You would have to be very confused and lost. The story was well written and a very sad ending. Thank you.

How sad, such a tragedy. It sound awful real, this sort of thing does happen. Can't help but want to cry when I read it. Its too bad and awful people get pushed so deep down inside from life that they believe this is the way out.
