Hold Me Under

Hold Me Under

A Poem by Vin

People rush to watch a fight
To see who proves the stronger might
The death of one is always fun
When friends all ditch to make a run
A bag of crack will not call back
The price you paid for full in black
Sit and watch the world pass by
With infamy we'll make a sigh

Boredom keeps the head held under
Suffocation makes a blunder
What's the difference when you're older?
Lacking purpose, getting colder
Madness makes the brain unwind
Ignorance makes a person blind
Teachers watch without concern
Principals forever stern

A lunar nocturne makes the moon seem red
It won't help much when I am dead
Rolling off the morning bed
Mindless students filled with dread
Look outside to watch the daisies
Fog has never been that hazy
Drugs do not make me less crazy
Worthless homework makes me lazy

Caged in a cellar of death
I cannot catch my breath
When the walls are closing in
I don't know where I've been
Lost in a pool of insanity
With a plethora of profanity
The world is black and white
When the sun is killed by night

Shame will employ you
Pride will destroy you

Logical insanity
Holds me under
Till I die

You wrote a powerful poem with a message. People can't see the good in the world. They love to see violence and disorder. I like the complete poem. Your message was loud and clear. A outstanding poem. Thank you.
