If I Let You Go (I Love You)

Just a little something about an experience to someone that means so much more than the world to me, even although i don't tell him enough :(

I lay clinging to you, with trembling hands,

Warning each other to go, but we both know where we stand.

But at the same time pleading, begging the other not to leave,

We see the fears in one anothers eyes, the ones that no one else can see.

You can feel my hand loosen, you can feel me slipping away,

But love I'm holding onto you so tight, trying not to fade.

If I had to die tonight, just in case I have to let go,

There are one or two things, that I feel you need to know.

If I had to leave tonight, if my ending is really due,

With my last dying breath, I would tell you I love you.

If I had to drift away, If I had to depart,

I'd want you to know that every kiss, came from deep within my heart.

Even when it's barely beating, even if it's nearly stopped,

Especially when you're at your best, and even the same when you are not.

Your love is like a poison, but it's one that I am willing to drink,

Because you mean the world to me, even more than you think.

It's impossible to forget, all of those nights just holding each other close,

And all of the times we've messed around, and just taking each day as it goes.

And we've hurt each other deep, in ways that nobody else ever could,

But I would die to see you happy, I swear to God that I would.

Words aren't even enough, baby just hold me tight tonight,

The present is a little messed up, and the future is far but its in sight.

Because I feel a little more alive, every time that we touch,

Sometimes it even makes me want to cry, because I just love you that damn much.

If you start to stumble, I swear I'll help you stand,

And if you happen to fall, I'll be right there to give you a hand.

So baby if I drift away tonight, if God puts me to the test,

I'd whisper that I love you, with my one last breath.

So romantically sad. Another fine piece from you. The feeling of love is indeed the strongest emotion, which offers more than just give and take, but to throughly embrace. A truly and deeply felt poem. Nice one.
