Disease HeartA Poem by V. P. TrujilloScarred mans heart.Disease Heart We always choose to
keep it to ourselves, cursed souls and faltering health, inside my flesh I
found disease, and without blessing I release it unto thee. To ever see me
again? Try it and I’m out, lest my desire run you to the ground. Without a
focus I am crying to the night. Inside this painful realm I open my prize.
F*****g gifts with your appealing little bows in lies, and within your wrapped
box I find your devils hidden pride. Shaming it all down to me, and keeping
pressure on. He damned me for dragging you along. Where have we gone
since we left it to our hearts? We fretted for our inconsequential little
desire…for this lustful self-serving bit of nothing we call, our love. See me
complete inside of you! Yet all we hear is sleeping disasters waiting, I feel
this time I’m escaping, into this last place my breath will allow me. I am done
and that is my choice, don’t let me leave without you…I see you around every
corner, and I need my heart to, be alone for just awhile. Wrapped inside your
blanket neatly, kept away from lonely coldness, burnt-back-alive with all your
heat and scrapping by for its next meal I…
Complain but I can surely tell you, I’m happier with than
without. So don’t worry, because my heart surely is already there, residing
quite comfortably, inside your frame and looking out, for all of your best
interests. I am living lies, living proof of receiving this gift from you. I
love it so, and so we go again. © 2014 V. P. TrujilloAuthor's Note |
