Maggots

Maggots

A Poem by Vincent

"
Many times you envisionned it in nightmares
Alive, under the soil, trapped in wooden planks
Gloomy perspectives and claustrophobia
Grumbling and growling for the earth to hear
Only one thought nagging you constantly
The contemplation of rot and decomposition
Soon you will be a feast, a delicacy for maggots

it's bad enough being buried alive, the throes of claustrophobia, but you have to deal with your impending decay, and that's when the maggots will feast on you. is that the worst that could happen in this dream...very descriptive. nice piece.

resplendent connotation to death! the melodious 'grumbling and growling' phrase is terrifying to imagine but, soothing to the ears. do maggots actually make you shudder or, have you come up with the metaphorical reference yourself anyway?

I fear all too soon this is my destination, thanks for driving that point home. For now I will look on each day as a blessing and each moment spent writing as bliss.

Loved this poem. I loved the word choice and the poem flows well. It also gives a good image and emotion.
