"

Carelessly sacrificed, cannon fodder for a greater good

Humans have played him out, no will on his own

Even that price to pay will not ensure them a win

Chess can be a lot like living life, choices and decisions

Knowing that, I feel like I am the gambit’s pawn

Mysteriously given away, such a noble cause

Always seven others like me for any required task

They all have hopes of promotions, how they will be decieved

End of the line, so few chances. All died with their futile hope.

History is full of stories of people sacrificed for the greater good, from military conflicts to everyday life, and the pattern continues today at the hands of "important" people who are somehow deemed fit to make decisions on the behalf of billions. The chess metaphor is incredibly apt. Nice work.
