Escapade

Escapade

A Poem by Vin
"

Have you ever been to such journeys, where even your return is uncertain?

"
And I reached there
fully tired and not knowing where
I saw the cave covered with bushes
and hesitated a bit before kneeling in.

I remember what the saint told me
go in so that you won't come ever back.
I was scared, my hands shaking
but still rearing to go and see.

He made me walk alone for 2 days
may be a 100 km
I hiked swam and mostly crawled
what is a string of 4 mountains.

And here I'm in front of the cave
which was found by the one
I know as my Guru.
I remember his words,
you may find the old me inside.
Never mind- better to leave him there.

There is something about such hikes
you will lose all pride, ego and pleasures
all that is not yours
yet you hold close for nothing.

Curious to go in
I started to bend and kneel-
whatever it is, I'm willing to face.
The end is certain anyway-
let me do whatever I want.

I closed my eyes and crawled
for all things of beauty are felt.
Life is nothing worth
if next moment is certain.
LOVE

Your storytelling carried me away to the point where I wasn't really paying attention to your actual storyline. I was launched into a reverie about a hike I took 30 years ago, into the wilderness by which I live now. It was one of those sensations you never forget. I was naked by an artesian-fed pool nestled into solid rock formations, huge, all around me. I totally understand what your poem is saying by diving deep. This pool looked & felt so deep, it was as if it pulled me into its depths. I love how this could be an allegory for falling into love. Either dive in all the way or fugetaboutit! Nice thought-provoking idea (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

A lot of people "search", a few find - something, fewer still find meaning, and fewest understand ...anything.

to travel back to lessons learned and the memory of the teacher. To remember and realize that the essence of life isn't material. The bravery it takes to go into the unknown hoping to find something familiar when really you're looking for something totally new.

Beautiful, Vin, thanks for sharing.

Sending Love to you!
LIfe in itself is like that as is the emotions of change and uncertainty. We journey into the unknown each and every day sometimes in our existence on earth. Then suddenly we are inspired fated or made to go in an uncertain direction for whatever reason that happens to come by chance. And that change can indeed move mountains and inspire us and give us the greatest gift we could have ever have had. Fear and trepidation and uncertainty are part of human growth and existence. Nicely expressed and penned.

I would suggest the hike is more like a pilgrimage to where you guru once lived > His holy place
