Gypsy Woman

Gypsy Woman

A Poem by Vin

Gypsy woman!
Where have you been ?
Gone too long,
don’t you know that’s a sin?
It’s been three nights,
and four more days
Oh, you know you put me in a daze!

I’ve been down by the mountain side,
Giving life to a river that died,
I’m a flower, wild and free,
Live my life for swaying in the breeze.

Then by the fire, she dances at night,
Her body bending, bends my mind,
Oh, she makes me feel alright,
Blinks her eyes in fireflies,

I’m the fire in your eyes,
The ember glowing in your mind,
I’m the coal beneath your feet,
Oh, that woman got me, on my knees!

Reading the first paragraph, I had to think: a gypsy needs to be free & it's impossible to capture her into some existing paradigm this guy may have to put her into a box where he can "keep" her. Then the poem turns a different tune, showing strong details about how he became entranced by her. These two parts of your poem form the conflict I've lived with all my life. Guys are attracted to my wild nature, but then they want to tame me. I enjoy it when a writer portrays the duality of human nature & you've done this well (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

A delightful poem of admiration, love, affection and beautiful in the eye of the beholder. Gazing into beauty and seeing so much more besides. Never trying to tame them or change them but accepting them for who they are. The wild rose of nature and life entwined together as one. Beautiful done and expressed. Bravo.

Lovely poem. Hard to lust after something we cant have. Free spirits cannot be tamed. I could feel the want for this woman through the words. Good read 👍

Lots of desire here but it's the kind of desire that ties down and Gypsy anything is in itself the desire to be free. I enjoyed this very much. I think there's a little 'Gypsy' in everyone's soul. That part of us should never really be tamed or it will die, like a river dammed up. A part of it will die.

Ah yes 'barley girl' has just about said it for me
You wont change the 'gypsy woman' you cannot tame her
I should know > I married one
Gypsy woman + gypsy man
neither of us has been tamed we love to be outside and free

Hence my name of Wild Rose

Beautifully constructed and endowed with details.
It' really kept me on from its head to the base
as I read through its lines that vividly present its message.
Vin, this is brilliant. I truly enjoyed this poetic love tale.
