Nothingness

Nothingness

A Poem by Vin

As I got up today morning
a strange thought stirred up my being
that where was I the moment just before
and this is a question we all should explore.

Were we dead for some time
or in a state which is sublime?
Nothing physical touches us in the state
nothing hit us like pain, grief, love or even hate
Hence this is a question each should ponder
and let each cell of our being may think and wonder.

Whatever we bring up with our mind of logic,
for those who look close, sleep is a magic.
A world were nothing affects us
and yet never a phenomenon we did discuss.

Never have I got an answer for this thing
may be this beyond the limited mind to bring.
But one thing I am determined to do
is to smile and see such questions through.

Ah where do we travel in our dreans, where do our thoughts go when we sleep? An interesting subject to ponder, a fascination to contemplate. What I do know is there is no logic to where my muddled mind goes. Your poem will get your readers thinking vin.Keep them thinking and feeling.

This has often been a question on my mind. You should try lucid dreaming. It doesn't have all the answers but it could potentially give you some guidance you may be seeking. If interested read, A Field Guide to Lucid Dreaming: Mastering the Art of Oneironautics. This book was very fascinating to me. Anyway, this poem was so well written and makes me wonder, where do we go when we're dreaming?

You need to look into prosody. When you write structured poetry, there's a lot more to it than dropping rhymes at line's end. A poem, like a song, must have a recurring beat that both adds a cadence and involves the reader as a performer.

A really good introduction to structured poetry can be found in the Amazon excerpt for Stephen Fry's, The Ode Less Traveled. It's well worth the time to read it.

I’ve always been kind of curious about that. Where do we go when we sleep? Why do we have dreams? Very well written and a definitely good read

It is a question, I think, one must indulge in every morning. This is spiritual as well as fun.

A serene beauty lies within the nothingness it is what we aspire in meditation to achieve. to open up clarity is something that i strive for often in the hopes in the clarity revelations appear. Many think that emptiness is a scary thing indeed
