Father of the Bride

Father of the Bride

A Poem by Vikrantsingh
"

For my little honeybunch ^ - ^

"

Little fingers

Closed eyes popped and gazed at me

My eyes were weeping - She was born

I whispered, I love you my honeybunch

As the day went by

You grew old & endearing

Now the time has come - Wedding.

Ah! The feeling of every father

Tears rushing from my eyes crossing my cheeks to my mentum

Thank You Oh! All Mighty God!

It’s been 25 Years of long journeying

Why this is so unmanageable?

Why can't I keep my princess?

Why she has to depart?

It’s difficult, but I took her hand

Walked Proudly - Gazed at crowd & bridegroom

Who promised me, he will keep my princess happy forever

Pain raised high

My last dance - Holding her back close to me

I nested her tight (and whispered - Love you my honeybunch)

We both cry and then; there she goes leaving me alone

With her remembering.

Surely u are MAD.. Mad Father......
I have heard it so many times, that a father gets to worry about his daughter's marriage as soon as she is born.. But seeing and feeling it for the first time.. In your pieces...

Its the time, to have joy and fun moments with her.... Don't think about future :)
It will happen when it is to happen... But till then... Leave these worries of she leaving you alone.. Just make sure, she goes in good hands..

A hand stronger than her father (yours)
A hand that will make sure , she never falls from anywhere..
A hand that will be with her forever, like her parents are..
A hand that will give and teach her more love, that you shared...

Yeeda... Made me think of this scenario in my case :-/ :@ :@ :@ :@

I too fell in love with this writing......the moment that involves both pain and happiness when a father had to send his daughter to husband's home after marriage is so emotionally expressed in words. next year this gonna happen with me and my dad too.I will remember this poetry forever...:)

Well I do love it. Although I am not a father, and have never had the pleasure of seeing my daughter married.

This poem of yours really made me speechless vikrant... i have my eyes currently filled with the unstoppable pain..:) being a very dear daughter of my father, i could feel each and every word here....
the images you had put her kind of added soul to your really sweet and lovely poem....:)

i have seen many people, who love their daughters, but at some phases only consider them as a burden...
am really glad to see such a sweet and lovely bond which normally exist between a father and daughter sooooo beautifully expressed....:)

loved it alot :)

wow! Vikrant this time you choose the title that captures the attention and the expression and explanation in the poem takes the heart of the reader..
only a father and a daughter can understand this pain but you have described it in the poem very precisely and beautifully.
keep writing mr. Singh :)
