Father of the Bride

Father of the Bride

A Poem by Vikrantsingh
"

For my little honeybunch ^ - ^

"

Little fingers

Closed eyes popped and gazed at me

My eyes were weeping - She was born

I whispered, I love you my honeybunch

As the day went by

You grew old & endearing

Now the time has come - Wedding.

Ah! The feeling of every father

Tears rushing from my eyes crossing my cheeks to my mentum

Thank You Oh! All Mighty God!

It’s been 25 Years of long journeying

Why this is so unmanageable?

Why can't I keep my princess?

Why she has to depart?

It’s difficult, but I took her hand

Walked Proudly - Gazed at crowd & bridegroom

Who promised me, he will keep my princess happy forever

Pain raised high

My last dance - Holding her back close to me

I nested her tight (and whispered - Love you my honeybunch)

We both cry and then; there she goes leaving me alone

With her remembering.

Surely u are MAD.. Mad Father......
I have heard it so many times, that a father gets to worry about his daughter's marriage as soon as she is born.. But seeing and feeling it for the first time.. In your pieces...

Its the time, to have joy and fun moments with her.... Don't think about future :)
It will happen when it is to happen... But till then... Leave these worries of she leaving you alone.. Just make sure, she goes in good hands..

A hand stronger than her father (yours)
A hand that will make sure , she never falls from anywhere..
A hand that will be with her forever, like her parents are..
A hand that will give and teach her more love, that you shared...

Yeeda... Made me think of this scenario in my case :-/ :@ :@ :@ :@

Loved it too. I can totally feel the pain and the fear of separation depicted through your words.

Reminded me of the wedding scene from the old movie "Dhadkan", haha!

Nice job!!!

Vik,

This one is as touchy as the moment by itself ...well crafted words ......
irrespective of religion , region, caste , creed ...infact above all sorta biases this is a sweet pain that every father feels right from the day he fathers a daughter ...... millions of seconds nooo nooo countless amount of time spent on meticulously thinking about seeing his beautiful angel walk down the aisle .........

Being a daughter got tears into my eyes , more than words the emotion is quite strong ....its like living the moment without being actually there .... Of course with your permission I want my dad to have this poem the day i walk down the aisle :D .....
u left me bezubaan ..... :P intended hindi word !

Love,
Tuvi
