Father of the BrideA Poem by VikrantsinghFor my little honeybunch ^ - ^Little
fingers Closed eyes popped
and gazed at me My eyes were
weeping - She was born I whispered,
I love you my honeybunch As the day
went by You grew old
& endearing Now the time
has come - Wedding. Ah! The
feeling of every father Tears
rushing from my eyes crossing my cheeks to my mentum Thank You
Oh! All Mighty God! It’s been 25
Years of long journeying Why this is
so unmanageable? Why can't I
keep my princess? Why she has
to depart? It’s
difficult, but I took her hand Walked
Proudly - Gazed at crowd & bridegroom Who promised
me, he will keep my princess happy forever Pain raised
high My last
dance - Holding her back close to me I nested her
tight (and whispered - Love you my honeybunch) We both cry
and then; there she goes leaving me alone With her remembering. © 2013 VikrantsinghAuthor's Note
