Fireflies

Fireflies

Emeralds do dance,
skate on the pond,
the body of water,
knows how to respond,

Pooling the liquid,
ripples with strength,
skimming it quickly,
keep bodies at length,

Beat of their wings,
burn of the form,
playing on water,
just out of the norm,

Fireflies know,
just how to have fun,
continuing on,
till the dawn of the sun.
