When the summer ends

When the summer ends

A Poem by Vidyashree
"

In the wake of coronavirus I believe it is the will, hope and the optimistic nature of people around us that will help us get through the current turbulent time.

"

When summer ends, I wish the gleam of light falling on the fresh green leaves celebrates the vibrancy of nature in the same way.

When summer ends, I long to hear the joyful chaos of children playing, chasing ice candies, and laughing over their oddly painted tongues, just as before.

When summer ends, I yearn to see the streets bustling, men walking down chaotic roads with the same vigor as always.

When summer ends, I hope to witness the sheer joy of family reunions, friends huddled together, and lovers comforted by each other's presence.

When summer ends, I wish for a new beginning. A chance to start again, to begin better.

When summer ends, I’ll await the arrival of the new season"the one that soothes the summer blisters and brings a quiet calm.

Indeed, let it be so. Yes, by God, let it be so.
