When the summer ends

When the summer ends

A Poem by Vidyashree
"

In the wake of coronavirus I believe it is the will, hope and the optimistic nature of people around us that will help us get through the current turbulent time.

"

When the summer ends

When the summer ends, I wish the gleam of light falling on the fresh green leaves, celebrates the vibrancy of nature the exact same way.

When the summer ends, I desire to hear the cacophony of children playing, chasing ice candies and chuckling over their oddly painted tongues the same old way.

When the summer ends, I yearn to see the streets bustling and men walking down the chaotic roads with the same vigor.

When the summer ends, I wish to witness the sheer joy of family reunions, friends huddling together and lovers comforted in the presence of each other.

When the summer ends, I hope to begin again. I hope to begin better.

When the summer ends, I will await to welcome the new season, the one which mollifies the summer blisters again.

Indeed, let it be so. Yes, by God, let it be so.
