Pushkar, thy peace

Pushkar, thy peace

A Poem by vidya iyer
"

This poem stems from one of my solo travels - Pushkar. Pushkar is a beautiful town in Rajasthan, India. This poem is my tribute to the self-discovery I had whilst on it.

"
I strayed away from the hustle,
The demons, a fear,
That keyboard, those tittle-tattle,
Away from those cries of cheer.

Plunged into you, plug you into me,
Gaze far into you and I gaze far deeper into me.

I lay on your Ghats and my stars weave their blanket over,
In a second, a thousand thoughts, a million questions and a heartbeat hush lower.
Maybe for once or maybe forever,
I stayed and they strayed away,
That hustle, those demons, a fear,
That keyboard, those tittle-tattle,
Strayed away from me those cries of cheer.
