Never

Never

A Poem by Victoria

Every night I wake up

Sweat and tears over me

Every night I return to that dream

The same nightmare of the day

Haunting at the nerves

I see him there

His words full of nothing

The light curving around him as though almost disappeared

An odd smile on his lips

A knot in my head

He talks of her

Her and her sweet words

Her and her funny puns

Her and him as one

Him and her as he would prefer

I scream and shout at him

Waving my hands

That odd smile of his faces her

She stands as he wishes

She talks as he loves

Then there I am

No tongue, no voice

I wake up to the day

The image of her in my mind

Jaw clenched tight

I walk up to him and he only sees her

Same face, same tone as mine

Yet, words and light as he wishes

Words and mind as he would like

I stand in silence

The silence of my own mind

As he would never hear it
