When I Am OldA Poem by Victoria MaeA poem about alzheimer's.
When I am old and my hair turns gray,
and I can no longer remember your name. Just remember that I love you so time will never change that, no. When the memories of yesterday, of the times our children laughed and played. Become lost just strands in time, please just hold your hand with mine. When eyes of blue lose their bright sparkle, please remember it was there. And how they glittered at your jokes, or met your eyes through open air. When I don't remember when, or who or what or how. Love me like you always did, love always finds a way somehow. And in those moments all is right, and everything's okay. Hold me in your arms so tight, and whisper of our yesterdays. I promise you now while I can, to love you every day. And every day that's after that, even if the words I cannot say. When I am old and my hair turns gray, and I can no longer remember my name. Just remember that I love you so, together we'll be someday you know. © 2015 Victoria MaeReviews
