ConvincingA Poem by Victoria Mae
She missed so many things about him,
yet in her heart she didn't care. She missed him almost on a whim, it never mattered he wasn't there. She missed looking into his brown eyes, tinted hazel and green. That used to make her feel that she could fly, looking at her so serene. She missed the way his hair, fell into his face. It was always here or there, never once in the same place. She missed the sound of breaths, as he lay there next to her. Coming from the depths, of a heart that for her yearned. She missed his smile most, when it flashed so randomly. And made her heart just boast, of true loves fantasy. But she really didn't miss him, not a moment not at all. She never thought about him, winter spring summer or fall. She never let a tear fall, down her freckled face. She'd never felt her heart call, that it was still in the wrong place. She boxed up all the feelings, she put them way up high. She told herself there was no meaning, to a love that wouldn't fly. As the shower hit her skin, washing away the pain. She told herself she didn't miss him, to convince herself again. © 2014 Victoria Mae |
