Coffee Sunrise

Coffee Sunrise

A Poem by Victoria Mae

The taste of coffee on lips glossed with
The reality of everything behind me
And tinted with the curiosity of everything before me
Pressed together in a mix of bitten color
And bitter flavors that meld
As I watch the sun come up over a quiet city
Blanketed in cold that creeps into the crevasses
Of ones thoughts pulling forth a rambling
Of emotions from days gone by
And taking the mind down a curious path
Wondering what tomorrow may bring
And in the midst of wondering
the smell of coffee breaks through
Pulling me back to my cold reality
Sun higher than before
Shooting sparkling rays off frosted snow
Making it seem like such a nicer place
Than the mind knows
And the lips speak of.

Excellent poem. It`s quiet romantic with the sweetness of your love... and the mixture of words. Great job!

Thank you!
Snow is mentioned? When did you write this? j/k

I liked the feel of this one. I can identify with this since you seem like a dreamer-as am I. Nice command of descriptive words.
