The Charcoal Drawing

The Charcoal Drawing

A Poem by Victoria Mae
"

I found this drawing once.. This was my art for his.

"
Light from open doorway, cast upon the room.
Brought forth in shades of black and gray,
the artist surely knew.

How to capture movement, and how to draw the eye.
Nothing with direct distinction,
as it's blurred along the lines.

Inside an open doorway, in the morning's light.
A glow is cast upon the room,
or is it really nearing night?

There sits a single table, amid two matching chairs.
Between two matching windows,
is a picture hanging there.

The table top adorned with what, the eye just cannot see.
Imagination of ones own,
show's us what we want it to be.

The artist he created, his own work of art.
With charcoal and a canvas,
a scene from which came start.

Others now may see it, and appreciate it's worth.
The man who brought the scene to life,
it's simple beauty gracing earth.

Being a bit of an artist, the title drew me in. (No pun intended) A fine poem, it compliments the drawing exceedingly well.
