Breakthrough

Breakthrough

A Poem by Victoria Kaer

Breakthrough.

I want to, need to, breakthrough.

To break out of the darkness into the light.

I’m trapped inside, enclosed by walls.

I just need to,

breakthrough.

I scream to be heard,

Pound fists on walls in my attempt to,

breakthrough.

The loneliness and darkness that hold me are inside of me

For me I doubt there will ever be,

A breakthrough

Author's Note

Victoria Kaer
I actually originally wrote this for a contest on another web site, we had to write a poem using any song we wished. On my daughter's suggestion I used Breakthrough from the Disney movie Lemonade Mouth.
