Gave it away

Gave it away

A Poem by Victoria Lee~
"

for the love of a child

"

A little piece at a time
I gave it away
A little bit yesterday
And a little more today
I gave it away
I gave it away

Without conditions
Expecting nothing in return
Whatever you needed
I gave it to you
Whatever you wanted
I tried to make it happen for you

And I gave it away
I gave my heart away
And I gave it away
I gave my heart away

Whatever you dreamed
I dreamed with you
Let's make it happen
Let's make that dream  come true

I gave you my heart
I gave you my soul
I gave you my love
I gave it all to you

You had my heart
Even before you born
You are my children
And my love is yours

You reached for the stars
And that was not too far
I let you sit on my shoulders
I raised you up to the sky
You shimmered in the light
The light of the stars

And a little piece at a time
I gave it away
A little bit yesterday
And a little more today
I gave it away
I gave it away

I fell in love with a child
And I gave it away
I gave my heart away
I gave it away
Gave it away

yes we do give it all away for them, but oh what we get in return hey? :) there are those times, when I wish for such simple things as an uninterrupted bubble bath, yet as my children grow older, one out to college, one about to learn to drive, I realize how quickly the time goes by and how little remains for them to be children at all. there will be plenty of time, way too much time most likely, for those bubble baths in years to come. a beautiful write for your precious ones.

The flow from line to line comes straight from the heart. This is a strong beautiful piece, and I understand. I gave it away for Candace, Joseph, and Adam...and it was ~ is worth it! ~ Judi xoxo

Oh Vic this is so precious... the love of a mom that is unconditional is spiritual and your piece exemplifies it

You reached for the stars
And that was not too far
I let you sit on my shoulders
I raised you up to the sky
You shimmered in the light
The light of the stars

My favorite part right here.
