Little Black Dress

Little Black Dress

A Poem by Victoria Lee~

Getting older is getting old
Sadness and heartbreak
Countless nights alone
Self-imposed exile reaching an end
Starting right now
Getting back in the game
Going out tonight
Celebrating the New Year
Dressed to kill
A head turning, future heartbreaker
In a little black dress
Slit way up the side
Teasing the eye that follows the cut
Sexy well toned legs
Encased in silky thigh high stockings
Strappy black sandals with two inch heels
Blond hair hanging sleekly
Down a smooth bare back
Name sake lingerie keeping a secret
Smiling now as she looks in the mirror
Seeing a reflection of the women she once was
And knowing that is the women she still is
Getting older is really not so bad
Laughing as she walks out the door
Rocking a little black dress
2008 is going to be a good year
I’ll be damned she giggles
Victoria Lee is back
Thanks to the magic
 of a
little black dress

Happy New Year!

I love a poem with attitude. I love a spirit positive. I need a mirror like the one you've got. Mine just says, dude, you're getting old, stop tucking your shirts in. :-D

In all seriousness, another excellent poem.

First of all...

LITTLE BLACK DRESSES are the single most INCREDIBLE thing I've ever been around. The reaction of fans, and foes as well, make the little black dress a MUST-HAVE if you're trying to get ya game tight again.

I could tell a story about a little black dress that I once knew. Hell, it'd probably be a novel!!!

Great, confident way to begin 2008! Keep it up!

I love this and thank you for this! There are so many times in a womans life when she could take inspiration from this poem! You took us from your feelings of sadness and self conciousness to your recognition of your sexiness, your vitality, your beauty! When you feel that way it really does emanate from you...it draws people to you. A face looks prettier with a smile... more open and accepting. this poem means so much to me...I am gushing a response and not making sense, but your piece did make sense to me.

Phew!
I loved it!

I think every woman's closet should have something that they feel makes them look stunning. A little black dress or blue dress or whatever they like. We all need to go out once and awhile and remind ourselves that getting older isn't getting uglier and that even mothers and grandmothers can still wow the guys with their little black dress.
