Bittersweet

 

A warm breeze blows gently over
wildflowers growing in fields of clover.

Butterflies are flying free.

Such a sublime scene surrounding me,
taking me to a memory of you.

 

Like the wind, you came out of no where

Like the butterflies, you needed to fly free.

Bittersweet memories that make me smile,
as I let myself reflect back in time.

I would have done anything for you.
Anything, even letting you go.

 

I did not send you off to fly away alone.
A little piece of me went with you.

I will always keep you hidden in my heart.

I let you out to reminisce in those bittersweet memories
Of butterflies flying over fields of wildflowers and clover.

 

I will always smile while lost
in the beauty of everything you.

I have my peace in knowing in time,
the wind will bring you back to me.

Ah yes, there are flitterings of Amber in there, no doubt, but the strong hand is yours, the conviction is felt from beginning to end.

What a special opening, I loved every word. And it does help some to find in reading your comments that certain threads were meant to weave the passing of a farewell, not simply a return to lost love.
