Ah yes, there are flitterings of Amber in there, no doubt, but the strong hand is yours, the conviction is felt from beginning to end.
What a special opening, I loved every word. And it does help some to find in reading your comments that certain threads were meant to weave the passing of a farewell, not simply a return to lost love.
Wow..
This piece is so gentle. It has such a soft feel to it. It's as if the memory was writing it, so filled with warmth and beauty. This is just a beautiful and poignant poem of love left, for a time. Rain..
I let you out to reminisce in those bittersweet memories
of butterflies flying over fields of clover...
These are beautiful lines. The whole thing is beautiful and yes, it reminded me of my daughter, Deserae who passed. She loved butterflies, and had one tattooed on the back of her neck - a beautiful monarch. Thank you for thinking of us and sharing your bittersweet memories with me. The first holiday without someone you love is the hardest, the second gets a little better. The second just passed for me.
I think letting go of a loved one, in any form, is one of the hardest things of all. May we all do it with the grace this poem contains.
One technical nitpick: I think line 10 should read, "I would have done anything for you..." instead of "I would have did". I'm guessing the wording got changed there but a fragment of the earlier version stayed behind.

This is more than lovely, dear! You have written something that only a true spirit of light and love can write...remember those good times and smile :)
The bittersweet of this poem is delicate and lacy....so very beautiful, Victoria. Memories of a love lost are always with us...especially at this time of year. Lydia
