Reading between the lines

Reading between the lines

A Poem by Victoria Lee~

Perfect words
            Perfect lies
Fairy tale romance
            Delusional head games
Blinded by love
            Blindsided by deception
Forgiving you once
            Heartbroken twice
Paying the price
For not reading between the lines

i think that is a lesson that a lot of us go through -- beautifully written -- love the font you used for this too -- i love the line "blinded by love - blindsided by deception" so many times we turn a blind eye to the one we fall in love with -- and then they end up crushing our hearts -

(game was making me too nervous - so i am reviewing - ha ha the first quarter isnt even over yet)

a wonderful play on words...each lines feeds perfectly into the next. Yes, it's still a poem lol. Don't we all fall victim to this though? Putting on our rose colored glasses and ignoring what is staring us right in the face...because deep down we want to believe the best of people, not the worst. perhaps the worst loss from something like this is that ability to trust....takes a while to get that back. excellent write!

Victoria, I thought this was well done as I loved the cause and effect response here. A well pointed message. I think most of us can relate to this. Nicely done!!

I love how you use both your writing and the font to express the feelings behind this write. Brilliant technique there that added a real punch to everything you said. I think most of us have been there. It doesn't make it any easier. Great job here. :)

I like that you put in the bad aspects between the good aspects....a very good contrast...

and I think everyone has fallen prey to the silver tongue and the silver lining in a man's words....
Shows that you're human, and everyone wants to be loved...only human nature....
But look at what you have now, and look to the future with him....you are truly lucky and blessed..

A play on words that worked really well, both in content and prensentation. Unfortunately - we learn to read between the lines because someone is presenting a fairytale - not reality. Way to go.

Oh, I sooo get this. I think this happens to more people than I care to think about! This is sheer poetry, beautiful and honest....and yes I said POETRY...it doesn't have to rhyme or keep a beat, it just has to speak...and that it does :)

... yes the 'duality' play on words ... somehow this sheds light on the conflicts of the mind. Assailed by doubt even reason cannot solve as reason sees only inside the box. Yet, the Heart of Courage breaks out ... this is what your Poetic piece made me reflect. Well writ, Victoria Lee
