Set to the wind

Set to the wind

A Poem by Victoria Lee~

The wind is blowing softly tonight
waving a white flag
After the brutal battle of words
Stories left untold
From those that wish to be forgiven
Words that should not have been said
On both sides of the battle
Apologies unheard
Broken arrows
Offered in peace
Thrown back in defiance
Let the silence heal this war
Sorry
Says it all
It takes a strong man
To say these words
And a stronger man
to accept them
A broken arrow
A sign of peace
Two sides to every story
Who needs to take a side
when the arrow is broken?
You cannot win a war
that has been set to the wind
The white flag waving
in hopes of peace
Let it go
And you too shall
Have peace
Set it to the wind
and let it go

I am also impressed. Lay the sword down. When a man lays it down , when he feels still under attack, it is a true sign he wants peace. I understand your words, they go beyond pride, and ego , they question character and dignity. You lose both in battles like you speak. I bow to your wisdom. Love Rain..

Unforgiveness and holding grudges only hurts the person that holds on to it. There are TWO sides to EVERY story and so often we make a decision and stand based on ONE side of it. We can be so easily deceived and dooped and drawn in by the charismatic words of one side, and then the "drama" begins.

Great job Victoria. This piece is not only filled with a wealth of wisdom, you have hammered a hard core truth right here and delineated some near perfect palisades. Hopefully everyone on here will sit up and take notice. Now THIS is some good writing for LIFE!

This is a very wise piece, Victoria...sometimes it is hard to let it just go...but it is always the best thing to do! Fantastic stuff, my friend :)

I am struggling with my own words. I know all is fair in love and war. But is it really? I am working through this.......

Both sides lose in any war. Your words are soft and compassionate...not to mention wise. This is a beautifully written poem. Lydia

Beautiful words, I keep remembering all the times I need to be forgiven, when i feel that someone has wronged me, forgiveness is the key to a peaceful heart for hatred and revenge will always bring your mind into a destructive state. You may find yourself going down a path you cant'; leave.

I am sorry is to often the hardest thing to say but at the same time the one of the hardest thing to hear and accept. The power of your message here is inspiring. I think you conveyed your message both perfect and effectively. Life is to short to be making enemies. We should be trying to build one another up not tearing each down. How can we survive if we can't concentrate on making each other stronger instead of focus hate and pity pride. Truly Loved this

Great Job!!!!!

This is excellent. I am reading it at a time that I am currently working on making ammends. They way this is written is so touching and "grown-up." Thank you for sharing it.
