Nobody

Nobody

A Poem by Victor Gardel

I dreamed that you are with me,

I woke up to your cold absence.

Join me for a cup of coffee,

perhaps you'll end reality.

I dreamed that someone was listening to

what I was barely saying

thinking of irony of me being deaf

and there stood your beauty

as my only defense.

If I could land a star

that would be a typical romantic poem

but even it you would make sparkle.

And if I would stumble upon you

in a cosmos of mirrors

which reflect the greater beauty

than the one that stands before them

there would still be nobody like you.

Perhaps you deem this truth logical

but even the going is completely through

when I confess through fictional memoir

that I dreamed myself missing you.
