The Door to Myself (Linked Haikus)

The Door to Myself (Linked Haikus)

A Poem by Victor D. Lopez

The door to myself,
Intricately gilded steel,
Rusted shut by tears.

Beyond it dead dreams,
Endless verdant sylvan paths,
Better lives unlived.

What use my regret?
Precious treasure left there,
Cannot be retrieved.
