Sure

Sure

A Poem by Vicki T.
"

Written the day after the poem "A Blip"

"
I am sure that tomorrow
the sun will rise
Casting shadows on the morning dew

I am sure that tomorrow
The world will wake
To the cacophony of everyday life

I am sure that tomorrow
Life will happen
For most of us on the planet

I am sure that tomorrow
The sun will set
Making way for the rising moon

The twinkling stars will splatter the darkened sky
playing silent music
with their distant light

And I will look at the stars
and wonder
if I am certain of anything else.

Author's Note

Vicki T.
Let me know what you think about the repetition in the first few stanzas. I was thinking of taking it out.

Also let me know what you think about using the word certain at the end.

Emily Dickinson, E. E. Cummings (or ee cummings, if you prefer), Langston Hughes, and Walt Whitman are some of my favorite poets. I love their cutting edge writing. I could throw Maya Angelou in the.. more..
