Why do we still live like this?

Why cant others step out of their shoes and take a different look into actions they and others commit. Whats so hard about making sure your take the other persons thoughts and emotions into consideration when deciding what to say or do? Most would answer because they just don't, or they are literally unable to do it because of their mental fundamentals and learned character traits. if everyone put others first then we may not be good to ourselves but would be supported by literally the human race as a whole. We could of been a utopia but greed powers the people that hold actual power, a few indulge in everything they can while the masses struggle to stay afloat. We are a parasite on the worlds back.
