We Forgive Because We MustA Poem by Trent FilesHaven't written in a while so here it is.Nothing is set in stone nor cast to sea But the final words you spoke They still linger with me Words so empty Yet so full of feeling A voice echoing in my head Its not mine but it sends me reeling I wish I could take this voice And make it real To hear those words again From your lips would make me feel Whole once more-
Lay me to rest Relieve my hearts aches Dry up the hopeful tears That flow like rivers into lakes Sail into the dawn On a sea of trust Bear me anew We forgive because we must.
