A Beauty we Fear

A Beauty we Fear

A Poem by Trent Files
"

We hide things underderneath a blanket much like the night does but when we show what's within people miss it because they are to preoccupied and they don't stop to take it in.

"
In the darkness of night
It lays across like a blanket
Covering the earth
And shrouding the hills
But the lake of life
Shimmers what little light there is
Tearing through the sheets of black
And reflecting the good of life
The stars gleam into the pools
Like pearlescent eyes on the face of an angel
Trees mirrored on the surface
As an outline for such beauty
There is no need to fear the night
Nor what is in it
For the dark is just a blanket
Shrouding the beauty we miss in the daylight
