It's been 2 years since I left the Aickman Funeral Home. 1 month after I left, one of the people who worked at the orphanage saw me and gave me a ride back to the orphanage. I'm not up for adoption any more. So I'll be at the orphanage for only a few more days. That's when I turn 18.
"Capri!" One of the workers called to me from down stairs
"Yes?!" I asked
"The phone is for you!" I was in shock. I never got phone calls.
"Coming!" I ran down stairs as fast as I could. When I got to the worker she didn't look happy.
"A person name Jonah" She told me. My eyes got big. Why is Jonah calling me. It's been forever since I've seen him.
"Oh"
"Do you not want to talk?" I had to think about it.
"Ok" She handed me the phone.
"Hello?" I asked
"Capri?" I herd a voice say
"Yes?"
"It's Jonah"
"I know" I herd a chuckle
"How are you?"
"Why did you call?"
"I wanted to know how your doing"
"I'm doing good"
"Cool" It was silent
"Do you want to come visit?" He asked. I got confused. I ran away from that place and they are wondering if I wanted to come and visit.
"Why?"
"We're doing a seanse on Friday"
"I know" I made a big breath
"Do you wanna come and be one of the sitters?" I wanted to but I don't know how I would get there.
"What time?"
"9"
"How would I get there?" There was a pause
"I don't know" He sounded sad.
"I don't know if I will go then"
"That's OK, maybe some other time?" I got a little happy
"Ya, next time." I said with a smile
"Jonah?" I herd a faint voice in the phone.
"I got to go" He whispered
"Bye" I said. We hung up and I looked around the room. I saw one of the workers.
"Can you take me to Connecticut tomorrow?" I asked
"Sorry, I'm going to take the other girls to the zoo tomorrow. We will be there until the fireworks." She said. Maybe Next time, I remembered.
