There are specific pauses I had in mind when you read this, but I just didn't know how to show them.

Numb- deprived of the power of sensation.
No, not numb.
For numb implies you DID feel.
For numb implies you CAN feel.
No, not numb.
Desolate- ...and in a place of bleak and dismal emptiness.
Numb is not where you went.
Desolate is where you have been.
No, not numb, never numb.
