Maybe Tomorrow

Maybe Tomorrow

A Poem by Verneé

Maybe tomorrow I'll wake up and you'll be there

Lying close beside me

Holding me in your arms

There will have been nothing to argue about

No lies you've told

And I won't feel betrayed

Maybe tomorrow I'll see you and remember

What we had before

And what the future holds

There will be no need to pack up your things

To pretend I don't hurt

To watch you leave

Maybe tomorrow I'll somehow forget

The little indiscretions

You taking me for granted

There will be smiles lighting our faces

As we speak of our love

And the time we've spent

Maybe tomorrow the tears will stop falling

No throb of pain in my heart

My world will have mended

There will be strength to move on

Memories to forget

Maybe not today

Maybe tomorrow
