Heart to Heart

Heart to Heart

A Poem by Vermuth

Why do you sulk?

I have been wronged.
That is your interpretation.

Things are as I believe them to be.

Things are as you wish them to be.

I do not wish for strife.

Look down to your hands and see the marks of your own doing.

This is unfair.

Gaze upon your kin and see that you must make peace with that reality.
I do not want to sulk again.

Do you remember when your heart smiled within you?
It feels like so long ago, I know that can't be right.

You have been here before.

I remember now.

You will know that smile once more.
I remember now. I do not want to talk to you again.

You have said that before.

Things will be as I wish them to be.

Things will be as you believe them to be.

Thank you.

Thank you.
