The Beast Named WorryA Poem by VerinIt starts out as a little twinge A small thing that offsets the mood So tiny yet with so much potential The more it’s noticed the faster it grows
It’s a creature that feeds on doubt It creates it’s own food Spawning from mistakes and failures Quickly becoming a slimy beast
The monster inside it grows spines And has a tail that wraps around the heart Squeezing and clawing inside It becomes hard to breathe Thoughts run in circles The creature chases them Everything spins faster It only gets larger
The only way to stop it Is to no longer acknowledge Yet it’s presence is oppressive Overwhelming, it strangles all sanity
For the beast called worry Is a destructive all consuming Human creation © 2012 VerinReviews
